Bearville Notes

By Sherri Hicks

I hope the new year is being good to everyone. We are on our third week into it, and the weather is finally cooperating and turning into winter. We want it to be winter because each season brings in something new for us to do.

I read that the winter needs to be here to freeze out or kill all the annoying bugs that overtake us in the spring and summer. If there was no cold weather to get rid of them, we would surely have an epidemic of some kind.

What about you: Do you take care of yourself or just let what happens happen? I used to talk about me walking until I got into a workplace that caused me to walk a lot to get my job accomplished. The way you walk makes a difference if you are just a “dawdler” or a “goal oriented” walker, like having somewhere to be within a certain amount of time. Walking is a great all over body improvement. If you can’t get out to walk, then you can walk on a treadmill at your house or go walk at Wal-Mart. That will probably make you smile, but I said “walk” and then you can shop later…
