Armed robbery in Knott County

On December 18, 2012, at approximately 9:10 a.m. Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a report of an armed robbery at Ameri-Cash in the Hindman com- munity of Knott County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a white male entered the business and brandished a handgun. The perpetrator demanded money and gave instructions to the clerk for her to follow. The perpetrator then fled on foot until the victim lost sight of him.

The hood of the sweatshirt was tied tightly around his face, but he appeared to have reddish brown hair and short facial hair (as if he hadn’t shaved in a few days).

The perpetrator fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in an unknown direction of travel. No one was injured during the robbery.
